Driving Traffic To Your Website, The Art Of SEO
It is important for you to learn how driving traffic to your website works, not just with SEO but with it all in mind in general. Targeting your customer is very important.
Have you ever heard of CPA (cost per action) accounts? I learned from entrepreneur, David Jenyns that they have this cool piece of software that let’s you target customers for your website. It will cost you about $300-500 for a week, then you can look at the stats to see where you are converting your traffic or not.
Nearly all these kinds of websites have some kind of tracking code for you to check to see how well your traffic is converting. What you really want to do is not pay for the traffic but to get these companies on your side as your affiliate.
How it works is you pay them on a per sale basis. This is where you have to test your flow of traffic to show them that you have a good conversation ratio.
There is a lot of fraud in this type of business where 15-20% of the orders are fake. You have these people from Russia or India buying up your product getting the commission check then returning the product for a refund. When you on the big networks, stuff like that doesn’t happen. Your ads however are a lot harder to accept, but that’s ok.
This happened to me on a big ISP provider. There banner advertising spot cost was about $10,000 to $20,000. I told them that I didn’t want to pay that price and I wanted a per sale basis agreement. They agreed and I had my banner on their front page.
If I look back and my internet marketing history, it is interesting to see just how I would do something if I started my business from scratch. This is an extremely value exercise that you can do for yourself. I do a lot of testing to see how and which products perform the best. So I recommend doing split testing if you can find some software to help you out with this. You can do a search online and find many programs that would help you out in this area.
How can you get your searches down to a fine tooth comb? Many businesses get their niche targets down to an applied science. What is your targeted customer traffic? How many searches can you obtain each month and what is your competition like? When you try out paid media you can get shocked by the results.
With SEO you have a 5 part process, getting into the search engines, getting on the first page, getting people to click on your offer, getting people to opt in to a mailing list, then getting people to buy. When you dealing with driving traffic with a paid media account, you cut out some of those steps and can have great success.
