How to Dominate Your Market with Article Marketing

October 31st, 2009

Building backlinks is one valuable benefit that you can get from article marketing.   Sending well-written articles to article directories and appending a link to your website can direct exponentially larger amounts of traffic towards your site.  If your website achieves a higher rank in the search results pages, this will get your site more visitors and potential regulars or customers.

Writing and submitting articles, which are relevant to your website or product’s niche, can build your reputation as an authority in the said niche.  This can also translate to more mileage if any of your articles are published in magazines or newsletters.

Encountering obstacles and resolving them, thus refining your article marketing practices, will only serve to educate you.  A positive outlook contributes to a successful start.  Here are a few tips on how to conquer your niche by article marketing.

How to Write and Market Articles

Before actually writing an article, make sure that you identify the keywords you need to incorporate in them.  Even the best article will go to waste if it is not easily found by Internet users who search for associated information.  Keyword research is just one of the things you can do to maximize the exposure of your articles to the major search engines.  Use keywords or key phrases in the body of your articles, as well as related keywords or phrases.

Make a title or headline that piques or invites interest.  A casual article title, as compared to a bold and striking one, may cause readers who chance upon your content to move on to other websites for information.  Use the keywords judiciously – in the header, the article’s main body, and the concluding portion.  Do not stuff your article with keywords – this may cause it to feel stilted and turn off any readers looking for quality content.

There are no hard and fast rules as to the number of keywords incorporated in an article.  Putting your keywords twice in the first couple of paragraphs, and once for every hundred words, and once more in the concluding paragraph is a good rule of thumb.  Discretion may be followed here – content and readability is prioritized over keyword frequency.  Many reputable article directories will accept the articles you send, including some requisites, such as relevant keywords used and article summaries.

Do not promote your website or product within the article itself – the resource box or author biography portion is where you can do this.  Remember that the resource box directly connects any readers to your website.  Create your author bio in a manner that persuades any visitors to click on the link and forge on to your site.
